Privacy policy
Last updated: October 8, 2026
Who I am
This website belongs to Marlee Martin, operating as Construction Bookkeeping Co., in Thunder Bay, Ontario. I’m responsible for the personal information you send me through it.
This policy explains what the website collects, why I collect it, who handles it, how long I keep it, and how to ask me about it.
What the contact form collects
When you send me a message through my contact form, it collects:
- Your first and last name
- Your email address
- Your business type and the help you need, if you choose them
- Your message
How I use it
I use what you send me to:
- Reply to your message and answer your questions
- Talk with you about working together, including a quote if you ask for one
Where your information goes
Form messages come straight to my email inbox. The website doesn’t keep its own copy.
A few trusted service providers help me run the website: a web host, an email delivery service and a spam check that confirms a visitor is a person. To do that, they process technical details such as your IP address and browser type.
Some of them store or process information outside Canada, including in the United States. Information held in another country is subject to its laws and may be accessible to its courts, law enforcement and national security authorities.
I don’t sell your information
I don’t sell, rent or trade your personal information. I share it only with the service providers that run my website and email, or when the law requires it.
Email from me
Sending a message through the contact form doesn’t sign you up for a mailing list.
I send commercial email, such as news or offers about my services, only with your consent. Each one tells you who it’s from and how to unsubscribe.
Cookies and tracking
This website doesn’t set cookies of its own, and it doesn’t use analytics or advertising tools.
The spam check may set a security cookie to tell people from bots. Its provider describes it as strictly necessary and says it isn’t used to track you from site to site.
Links to other websites, such as Facebook, take you to sites with their own privacy policies.
How long I keep it
I keep your message and details only as long as I need them for the reasons above.
Changes to this policy
If I change this policy, I’ll post the new version on this page with a new date at the top.
Your requests
You can ask me what personal information I hold about you, and ask me to correct it or delete it. You can also tell me at any time that you no longer want to hear from me.
To make a request, or to ask anything about this policy, email me at bookkeeping@cbco.ca.
If you’re not satisfied with my answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.
